Magnus Uggla - Om Bobbo Viking flac album

[This album was originally released in 1975.]While not on par with his later successes, "Om Bobbo Viking" is nevertheless a strong debut from Magnus Uggla. True, fans of his later work might scratch their heads upon hearing the contents, as this barely contains anything resembling the radio-friendly pop songs or satirical lyrics he would later be famous for. "Om Bobbo Viking" is a glam rock effort with heavy influences from the likes of David Bowie, T. Rex and Sweet. Unlike much of his later work, the music here is as important as the lyrics, as noted on the extended guitar parts in "John Silver" and the surprisingly heavy riffs of "Riddarna av mörkret". The opening song "Hallå" is the first in a long stray of classic singles, but the album tracks are often not far behind, with "Raggarna", "Rock 'n' Roll Revolution" and the oddball title track being standouts. While not a complete success, this debut album is in many ways more interesting than much of his later work, thanks to its spacey keyboard trips, different musical styles and the sheer energy and apparent optimism of Magnus himself. Not all artists dare to experiment as much on their debut album as he does here, and it makes for a much more interesting listening experience.
