King David is a musical, sometimes described as a modern oratorio, with a book and lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Alan Menken. The musical is based on Biblical tales from the Books of Samuel and 1 Chronicles, as well as text from David's Psalms. King David is mostly sung-through with little dialogue, and the music swings from pop to jazz to grand choral arrangements. It uses a large orchestra and a large choir.
Dave Clark's "Time" is a concept album based on Dave Clark's 1986 musical Time. It was released in vinyl as a double LP (Catalog number: AMPM 1, EQ 5003) and in cassette format. It sold over two million copies and spawned four hit singles, one by Julian Lennon and two by Cliff Richard. Another song, "In My Defence", became a posthumous hit for Freddie Mercury in 1992.

David Bowie will release his new album 'Blackstar' in January. The Times UK first trumpeted the news of an upcoming Bowie LP, which an insider described to the newspaper as krautrock-inspired, musically diverse (Gregorian chant, long jazz jams) and completely bonkers. Bowie reportedly recorded The Next Day follow-up at New York’s Magic Shop with a band of local jazz musicians.
